Man Hit In Head By Lawn Dart
July 5, 2007 NASHUA, N.H. -- A man was hospitalized Wednesday in Nashua after being hit in the head with a lawn dart at a party.
Fire rescue officials said the 21-year-old man was hit in the top of the head by a foot-long, sharp metal lawn dart while playing the game. His name was not released.
Lawn darts have been banned for sale in the United States for nearly 20 years. The government said they were responsible for four deaths and 6,700 injuries over a 10-year period. In lawn darts games, opposing players score points by tossing darts at a plastic ring on the ground.
Ten years = 3650 days. 6700 injuries in 3650 days. 1.8 injuries per day.
lawn darts caused 1.8 injuries for every single day they were legal. seeing how few people live in an climate where they could even play lawn darts year round, this number becomes even more incredible.
