yes, you read that right, 8 Six Star General shows on the schedule. While that is a ton of shows for a local band playing original music, we are going to have the studio time and mastering paid for before we record. that's sweet.

On July 15th, we are recording our third album and if everything goes right, also our follow-up EP during the same session. The new full length cd should be releaed for August 18. The EP should be out for November 1. Our goal is to record 16 tracks and save the longest ones for the EP. We have been practicing regularly as well as playing shows once every two weeks, sometimes more. We are now playing five of the new ones as part of our set.

You'll notice on June 29th we are playing a show with The Schemers among other bands. I am very excited about this because it was almost exactly twenty years ago that they played their "last show" at Lupo's (two locations ago around the corner from Empire Street). Now, I get to follow them on stage at Lupos. Funny how things work out, isn't it?

75orLess the record label is busier than ever. Just released the second Fred Abong cd and have a crazy summer with releases by Killing Pablo, New York's Kaiser Cartel, The Followers, Torches, Six Star General, The Cold War, The 'Mericans, New York's Cholo and the "You Must Be This Tall" Rocky Point Soundtrack all due out before September 7. Yes, that's nine releases in twelve weeks. Sales has also increased to record numbers, much to the excitment of the IRS.

We have halted booking shows at The Penalty Box and the June 16 and August 18 bills we be our last there. While putting on shows is rewarding (but a ton of work), our booking contact left there in late May so we are going to lay low for awhile.

Yes I have recently lost 14 pounds according to meredith's scale. How? One, lots of yard work. Two, my typical daily food intake consists of coffee, an orange, a kiwi, a nectarine, banana, a healthy lunch, a few tomatoes, a cucumber and a healthy dinner with smaller portions than usual. By snacking every 90 minutes, I am never hungry during the day.

Apology: Sorry to Yoko Ono from The Sun UK

June 07, 2007

Our May 30 story headed "Uuurrgh! My Corgi kebab is a bit ruff" said that Yoko Ono was on a radio show and "tasted" dog meat which was being eaten by an animal rights activist.

The report, which was filed to us by several leading press agencies was wholly wrong and Ms Ono did not appear or take part in the show.

We sincerely apologise to Ms Ono for the offence and distress caused to her.
